Learn crazy cool hand-building techniques to create one-of-a-kind, kiln fired ceramic treasures. This class presents basic engineering skills and building methods. Learn to create pinch pots, coils, slabs, score & smooth, decorate & glaze! We use all natural, earthenware clay for our wonderfully whimsical, guided yet original, made-by-hand projects.

Expect to hand build projects in the first 3 classes, glaze during the fourth class, then return to pick up your finished pieces the following week.

Handbuilding knowledge and technique mastery is a pre-requisite to wheel throwing. Students may advance to the wheel at the instructors discretion.

Pottery made in this class will be kiln fired twice. Pieces will be fired to bisque, then painted/glazed and fired once again to complete the process. Pieces will be ready to pick up after the final firing.

Class fee includes all supplies; clay and glazes, use of tools and firing fees.

Teens grade 8 and up, Wednesdays from 1-3pm, two hour classes
